CARACTERISTICAS DEL TIEMPO |

1. Este tiempo verbal se forma con el pasado del verbo BE más el gerundio ING del verbo que se desea conjugar. Indica una acción en desarrollo en el pasado, es decir, usamos el Pasado Continuo o Progresivo para expresar que alguien ESTABA HACIENDO algo en determinado momento y que la acción había comenzado con anterioridad pero no había finalizado. Observa: |

2. Como ocurre con el Pasado Simple, el Pasado Continuo o Progresivo no indica si una acción finalizó. Compara ahora estos ejemplos: |

3. Probablemente la aplicación más interesante del Pasado Continuo o Progresivo sean las llamadas ACCIONES SIMULTANEAS, es decir, cuando se utilizan AMBOS tiempos verbales combinados para expresar que algo sucedió en el medio de otra acción. Observa: |

4. En cambio, si necesitas expresar dos acciones que han sucedido EN SUCESION, es decir, UNA DETRAS DE LA OTRA, deberás utilizar ambos verbos en Pasado Simple. Analiza estos dos ejemplos: |
