ACTIVITY 256: Read the text
below and look carefully at each line. Some of the lines are
correct, and some have a word which should not be there. If a
line is correct, type OK in the blank space on the left of
the number. If a line has a word which should not be there,
write that word in brackets. There are two examples at
the beginning (0 and 00).
A MODEL FAMILY
These days you are never too young to be a model. Janice
Hodge's three children have all been modelling since when the
first weeks of their lives, earning up £200 each for a working
day. "When my at first daughter Laura (now 8) was a baby my
friends told me she was so pretty that she should be a model.
I expect that people to say the same sort of thing about all
babies, but I asked myself what did I had to lose and
registered Laura with two modelling agencies. Immediately a
work came pouring in for her." As a result of the agencies
were keen to add Janice's the other two children, Ted (5) and
Alex (2), to their books as soon as they were born. "They
appear in catalogues, knitwear books and magazines. They are
such a patient children that photographers love working with
them. Fortunately they all enjoy having their photograph be
taken." But their earnings are not as high as a supermodel's
is. "I'm unemployed," says Janice, "so if a cheque comes in,
it means much more better Christmas presents or a holiday,
but most of the
money goes on bills."
