250 years in the future, life is threatened by the arrival of Evil.
Only the fifth element can stop
the Evil from extinguishing life,
as it tries to do every 5,000 years.
She is helped by taxi-driver
Corben Dallas (Bruce Willis).

The Mondoshawan have in their possession the only weapon to defeat evil. Four elements ... gathered around a fifth ... supreme being. The ultimate warrior. Created to protect life. Together, they produce what the ancients called the light of creation, able to bring life to the farthest reaches of the universe. But, if evil stands there ...

weapon: any instrument or instrumentality used in fighting or hunting (arma de fuego); to defeat: to win a victory over (derrotar); evil =/= good (el Mal =/= el Bien); gathered: assembled (rodeados); being: a living thing that has the ability to function independently (ser); ultimate = elemental (elemental); warrior: someone engaged in warfare (guerrero); the ancients: peeople who lived in times long past (los antiguos); called: assigned the specified name of (denominaban); able to = capable of (capaz de, con capacidad para); the farthest reaches = the remotest places (los lugares más remotos o más lejanos); turns to dark = becomes darkness (se transforma en oscuridad).

Imagine for a moment that this ... thing is not anything that can be identified, because it prefers not to be. Wherever there is life, it brings death ... because it is evil. Absolute evil.  

LINDBERG:

Evil begets evil, Mr. President. Shooting will only make it stronger.
