Generation
gap
is a relatively new expression that is much used -perhaps
overused- today. It signifies the differences between one generation and
another that result in lack of understanding and lack of genuine
communication. The phrase generally applies to the generation of today's
parents and the generation of their teenage (or older) sons and
daughters. The average time represented by a generation in the United
States is about 25 to 30 years. |
