A lot of teenagers are getting married these days.  

And a lot of those marriages end in divorce.  

But remember, I was barely twenty when I married you!

Yes, but I was twenty-four. I'd finished college and I had a good job. I was old enough to make sensible decisions.  

I never thought of our marriage as a "sensible" decision. I thought it was a romantic decision.  

Well... I suppose it was both.  

CULTURAL BACKGROUND

The years from 13 through 19, the adolescent years, are called the "teens" because the names of the numbers end in -teen. Teenagers are young people of these ages. Teenagers have considerable influence on the culture and the economy of the United States, with much of the music, clothing, and food produced specifically for their taste and consumption.
